The American Spirit Awards, Wednesday, November 13

The 2013 American Spirit Awards

6:30 pm Cocktails        7:30 pm Dinner and Program
The Harvard Club

In a democracy, many individual actions shape the common good.
The American Spirit Awards honor those courageous, determined individuals
who stand up and fight for what they believe in.
TOGETHER we make a difference.

Our honorees:

Nichole Hockley
for Citizen Activism
Nicole Hockley has honored the memory of her son Dylan, who was killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School, by her courageous leadership to advance the discussion of gun safety.
David Gergen
for Public Service Leadership
In advising Presidents from both sides of the aisle, David Gergen has demonstrated that extreme partisanship is not the cornerstone of good governance and that a willingness to work with both sides can benefit us all.
Edith Windsor
for Citizen Activism
Edie Windsor’s historic and victorious struggle for marriage equality before the Supreme Court proved not only that civil rights apply no matter whom you love, but that one woman can make a difference.
